Bush had some strong responses, but I was not particularly impressed with his repeated use of "wrong war, wrong time...blah...blah..." to try and corner Kerry.

He seemed to come back to it when he lost his footing and, unfortunately, I think that was evident and not particularly convincing.

it certainly wasn't a scientific poll with a real margin of error etc... but Kerry did clearly win.

Bush did better than I thought he would though.

Too bad they have so many restrictions in these debates.

"mixed messages" "mixed messages" "mixed messages" "mixed messages"

That's his style though. Simple minded message for simple followers?

I agree that Kerry clearly took this debate. However, I also think that Bush did about as well as I expected him to. What was a surprise to me was how confident Kerry seemed. I think this was a case of a Kerry win as opposed to a Bush loss...

Yeah, the restrictions are a bit of a bummer, but I can understand why both camps would contest everything so much. This race is so close and so much is riding on it that they each want as much control of the overall message as possible...

As for my flag, it's on sabatical as a mini-protest to get them to fix a few other things on this site before adding cute features...

To give him credit, his message (albeit one I don't agree with) is based on professional and moral clarity. A strong and clear message. While many of us consider it simple, the reality is that his manner of conveying his message is quite well suited to the sound-bite format of the media today.

I was disappointed that I wasn't mentioned specifically...

His success is based on short clear messages - 30 second ads - and carefully scripted and rehearsed speeches. When given a longer window and no script, that message isn't as powerful.

Humor points!

Now stop the Bush bashing, boys. People will draw their own opinions, and obviously vote for Kerry.
