I've been blocked before, and I recently had to block a few people. I think there is DEFINITELY news that shouldn't be shared on FB... Ok, I'll share a situation that really bothered me and made me really annoyed with this social media stuff. I'm not close with my mother in-law for several reasons, and honestly haven't talked to her in about 2 years. On my Birthday this year she decided to message me on facebook and wish me a happy birthday (whatever) and then decides to give her condolences about my dad's passing (4 months after the fact). I thought this was very inappropriate and insensitive!! She didn't even care when he had cancer, and decided to send her condolences 4 months after his passing, on my Birthday, in a FB message. It really bothered me.

I feel like facebook has allowed people to become disrespectful and cross the line of social courtesy. It is starting to bother me!

^I'm sorry you experienced that.
Agreed. People seem to be losing their social skills.
After I left facebook there were people who texted or called and asked if they did something wrong to be blocked. I clarified they weren't blocked, it's just a deactivation. Interestingly, my connections with people have deepened and there hasn't really been a sense of disconnection. There are lots of reasons to be on fb. I just don't personally have any right now.

For the first time I'm aware of, someone blocked me on FB.

This results in 2 problems:

1) I'm now down from my 500 person friend list. I've been keeping it at 500.... add a new friend, delete someone else.

2) The only outstanding friend request I have is from a coworker. Good guy, but as a rule I don't "friend" immediate coworkers.

I'm probably overthinking this.

having to count friends now THIS IS IMO RE DICK U LOUS

I don't need a COUNT I don't even need FRIENDS

butt like having a few
It's not really about counting friends, per se, but rather keeping tabs on who is deactivating accounts.
