I can't warm up to anchovies in any sort of way. Not on pizza, not on anything. My father would eat them straight from the can. My parents would also make fried dough with sardines inside, horrible, the fried dough was good but not the anchovies inside, yuck.

My in-laws are Portuguese, they eat sardines fresh and on the barbecue, I like them, but I can't eat canned or jarred anchovies/sardines.

I am Italian (Canadian-Italian) and for some odd reason one of my favourite pizzas has always been pineapple and fresh mushrooms. My parents probably never understood the concept and they probably never ate pineapple when they lived in Italy.

I also like a very traditional Naples style pizza with sauce, fresh cheese, and basil as my other favourite type of pizza. To be honest I never met a pizza I did not like.

when I moved to NJ I seemed to have a weakness for Italian American women. Does that make me part Italian? One girl's father who owned a moving company in the Bronx told me that it was sacrilege to put pineapple on pizza.

Hmmm, not sure about being part Italian, but that guy is reflective of many old-school Italians when it comes to pineapple. I still like it though.

That's like my Dad telling me I shouldn't be mixing anything with Jack Daniels.

My Dad would get upset when I chose to drink pop rather than his home made wine at the dinner, table, even when I was like 13 years old. Most of my Italian friends were never big drinkers because we grew up with booze all around us free for the taking. My Canadian friends were drunks because they were brought up to think of alcohol as being forbidden. lol.

I just ate leftover pizza, I have a bad habit of eating late at night before bed, the few slices of pizza leftover from earlier were just calling my name.
