I think you both know I have a bunch of Wintel's and a couple of Linux boxes but I'm not married to any OS. I even have one Mac I never use (an old G3 PowerPC).

I see that this mini would be excellent for our kitchen. I've had an Audrey (old 3Com QNX Internet appliance... like a big online palm) and now have a PC laptop. It gets a lot of use but it's always Internet to look at Google or IMDB... or email. Oh and internet radio. That's about it. I've considered getting a flat panel monitor/TV and connecting it to a low cost PC. This would really do the trick if my wife can put up with the change in UI. I don't care... she's more picky about change.

Could be a good switch.

Of course that's what I thought tomorrow... who knows what I'll think yesterday.

This is EXACTLY the scenario/point I was trying to make! Thanks I do agree with Billy that the pricing could be more attractive, but I am sure it is close to a loss leader as it is.

Good application for such an appliance, but the investment does not seem to be justified for the minimal use.

Your Mac mini comes with 90 days of free telephone support and a one-year limited warranty. Purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan to extend your service and support to three full years.
Not that good. Their support plan pricing is quite high as well.

I'm not sure of the quality of the service, either.

Consumer reports just rated Apples service/support as the ONLY bright spot in a very dismal service industry
