Brilliant!
I don't have a customer facing job these days. . . but I do have people that I regularly need to "help." . . . almost all of them are EE's/Software Engineer's. Friendly, but not the Zen masters of grasping the obvious. . .
Most current example. . .
user: "Hey Brian, my test script doesn't recognize the fiber channel card in slot 9. I have tried to reinitialize the test, I've rebooted the system. I changed the test to probe for 2Gb connectivity. . .
me: Have you read the FAQ?
user: "Yes, as I was saying, I probed the PCI-e slot, and it registered. I checked the Chip and the chipset registry, and it still doesn't. . . "
me: Have you read the FAQ?
user: "Yes, and it still doesn't check out."
me: You didn't read the FAQ.
user: "It's the same as <similar product>, same chipset, but smaller."
me: Right. Smaller. It only has 4 slots, not 9.
user: "Why didn't you tell me?"
