I hear ya, I actually like that year of camaro, it's my fave. I always wanted one in Orange with the split black stripes.

as for the vette, I really like the long hood, short deck thing, s2000, corvette, ac cobra....... go figure and that year is really the only year I would own, with side pipes of course.... 69 or 70, they look more aggressive than the 60's vette, not as gay as the seventies, even though its the same underneath....

Alex, I'm really not a huge muscle car fan. I like some of the older cars like the 60s 'stangs, and some of the older Vettes, but I really don't know all that much about them or what their relative value is... The only muscle car I'd actually buy right now would be a GTO, and that would just be a gift to my dad.

GTOs were definitely cool. As I recall, they had that brushed aluminum dash panel stuff (I think).

Of the cars from that era, I like the late 60's Firebird T/As the best. More than the Camaros. But, to be honest, I really wasn't too excited by muscle cars at all. Mercedes SLs of that era are perhaps my favorites. Go back a little earlier and the E-type Jags really did it for me.

I guess I'm just a snob.

Alex, sorry I'm so hard to contact (look for pm).

I'd need a week to research the Monte's - I know people that would know those cars (uh, duh, I'm in THE city) but I never followed them.

The Yenko, I've gotta agree with you. Search Barret-Jackson's archives; I seem to remember one going in the mid-50's.

The GT500 with the CJ, an auto, and lime green? At $75k? A girl I dated in high school had 2 KR500's, one black and one in that same butt-ugly green. Build schedules were funny things - I know cars went out the door with huge exceptions lists, where they grabbed whatever was on the line to get the car out the door.

If the price is good on the Camaro, that'd be a great car. Watch the front subframe mounts (break often), lower the car a little, put some negative camber in the front, and have fun.

As for the GNX, I'm scared of that leaker. Dump it on some other sucker.

And Chaz, you're not a snob. You've obviously forgotten what my first car was
