The question was, "When will they both put their left feet forward together?" rather than, "When are both their left feet forward together?"
For the boy's 6th step, and the man's 4th step, they'll both put their left foot forward, but this will not be at the very same instance in time.

This is true though when the put their right foot forward 'together' it is only for an infinitely small amount of time that they are 'together'. It is for this same infinitely small amount of time (at the end of their 4th and 6th step) that their left feet will be going forward, 'together'.
