Good idea. I might suggest you get the biggest external HD you can thoil (thoil is a Yorkshire word meaning not only can you afford it but you can justify the expense... it's one of my favourite words. )

My recent purchase of a 500GB drive didn't set me back all that much. Around $300 can get you a 500GB with USB2 and FW.

Once again Cracker... *don't* delete off your PC until you absolutely have to. You will find it very hard to get songs back off your iPod to your PC.

Heck... you can get a 750GB from Best Buy for $420. Now I'm bummed.

You might not think you need something that big but I'll bet a few years ago you thought your 40GB HD would be far more than you'd ever need.

With more and more audio media files and video files coming (my PCs are full of them) you will need storage over the next few years... and LOTS of it.
