Random I-pod Question

it wouldn't let me select it. when i get into "my ipod" it just says summary/music/podcast and i can't see my entire library but if i hit play it just starts playing songs from the actual ipod, eventhough they aren't on itunes.

Yeah. iTunes isn't great that way.
You can select the "Eye" in the upper right corner labeled "Browse" and click on one of the "Genres", "Artists" or "Albums" and it will play just that. Or you can use one of the Smartlists ("My top Rated", "Top 25.." Etc) that it comes with (they're easy to make too).
What's dumb it that if you highlight a number of songs by Ctrl+select or Apple+select it doesn't understand that those are the only songs to play. Stupid. Other players do that.

When using iTunes (computer) play out of "Library" not off your iPod. You'll have more control and more songs.
But if he is hell-bent on removing the songs from his computer.
BTW -- I have all my music on my Home PC. However, at work I just loaded up iTunes, and play the music off of the iPod so I don't have any MP3s on my work hard drive. That's just why I use it that way.
