Good rant! I hate being put on hold ! I'll point out that the last time I nearly threw the phone out the window was talking to (well, trying to talk to) the parts dept. at my nearest Honda dealer!!

I had someone on hold the other day and when I picked up again they were still singing the on hold music.

That would be Carole King's "Anticipation," I suspect!

Chaz!

I used to work in tech support for a network adapter company. If a customer was really being an ass, I would put him on hold and just leave him there. It was the "penalty box."

(Don't ever be an ass to your tech support person... well, unless they are an ass first!)

I always love when the support person is being an ass. It's like an open invite for me to be one too!

Ooh, red, you're a bad girl. That's pretty funny .

You know what else cracks me up is some of the jokers out in mysterious mist of the other s2ki fora... These guys are ruder'n 5-day old , and they wonder why their dealer's give 'em a cold shoulder...

Of course, Luke's right too... There's a serious escalation factor here since the customer's always right and should be treated with kid gloves. I say him!
