The thing is... even if I buy a beater now.... its just gonna add to my debt and I'll still have a car payment for the S and go in the hole even more for the beater. I can sell the S and use the money leftover from what I did loan to buy an Integra and not have a car payment, or at most have to use 1-2k. Then I wouldn't have any car payment. If I get an 05, I'll drive it on weekends and nice weather, but I won't be putting 30k a year on it.

If I could afford a beater and the S right now I would, but thats really not an option.
How much do you owe on your S?

I say selling the S is the best option and buying a beater....

I would never sell mine but I'm also pretty debt free

with the lovely J. But I have an additional suggestion for you in which it might be able to keep the S.
Not sure of how much debt you have credit card wise-but I'm admitting that for a while, I had to move back in with the parents. Yes-it wasn't the best thing but I was really in bad financial shape. I'm not saying to move back home (if you can) but what about taking in a roommate or perhaps even getting a 2nd job? It you were to get a roommate, you could use their "rent" money to pay down the credit card debt or if you move back home-you could use your "rent" to pay down the debt.
It's not easy when you might have to give up something you love.

I already have a room mate. I need my spare time for freelance work which will pay way more than some crappy second job at minimum wage too. I just gotta get more freelance work in and get my online portfolio built.

Obviously Brant has never lived in Nashville to know you can't get around with public transportation here.
