I just added eggs to my grocery list.
I've got eggs in the fridge, but I think they went bad months ago...

Its more than just a fun car to me... its a stress reliever, its part of my passion for driving... everytime, every morning I hit that little red button....I feel my blood flow and even though im broke..I'm driving broke to 9k rpm...
I know exactly where you're coming from. Speaking from personal experience, there's a balance between financial stability and pleasure in life. If you're at all like me you can't skew it too far to the practical side or you lose your sense of self...but you can't skew it too far to the frivolous side without putting at risk the potential in your future.

Seems to me that you have your head pretty much screwed on right and are asking yourself (and others) the right questions.

If I sell it, I will have money in hand because I only loaned out like 3/4 of what the car was worth.. so if I sold the car I'd have almost enough money to buy a beater with that money.

trust me.. i owe a boatload... I'm working on doing some talking probably tomorrow to see if can get everything or at least more on my lowest interest card, but they would have to double my limit in order to do that... I'm looking at a couple options right now.

Driving the car doesn't help motivate me to sell it, because right now I might be broke but at least I can go for a drive and have something to show for being broke. I got some info today too that might help me make more $ and give me a career boost so I'm gonna see how that goes before making any rash decisions.

I'm affording to pay for everything right now without problem.. its just I don't want to pay on it for as long as I am going at this rate....
I don't know who things work in the US, but I was in boatloads of credit card debt before I left the UK, and I went to the bank and got them to consolidate the whole debt into a single loan. This reduced the interest rate considerably, and also allowed me to cut up the credit cards, meaning that I couldn't start adding to the debt once I had paid some off. This helped me get my debt back under control and paid off over a much shorter period than I would have been able to if I had carried on using the credit cards ..... just a thought ....

Consolidation loans are very common here (arguably too common). The downside is that it often stretches the payments out over many more years, unless you're very disciplined and pay double/triple what the monthly payment is.

dsr..
sorry that it took me so long to find this thread.
um...
this is a tough decision.... trust me..i know... i'm going through it right now....
it's tough.... but like WSB said.. get a mid-90's civic ('99 civic hatch ), and commute/ , etc.. with that... save save save and get your finances in order.
it's not like you can't attend s2k events... there is always a passenger seat.. trust me... i've put major mileage in WSB's, Strangedaze, Jen's seat
3/31/04 was when i said to my '01 NFR . I'm shooting for mid-march of '05 when i pick up my '05. a year of no car payments can really save and i know this for fact
good luck dude.. if you need to talk, you've got my number.

wow.. thanks for being so supportive to everyone. I need to talk to my bank and see what they can do for me, I'm sure I'll get this worked out one way or another. At the end of next year... even if I'm not exactly where I want to be after getting rid of the car for a year.. I still could get another one thats used like I just bought this one.. regardless I KNOW another S will be in my future wether it be my baby im in now or an 03 or 05... these things are just very hard.

I'm looking at getting a late 90's Integra.. I can work on them with my eyes closed and one hand and both legs behind my back.

I'm sure any DC2"R" I find will be ragged.. Good thing about Integra's... they still made in Japan better quality than the american made Honda's. Gotta stay JDM I'd like a GSR but I may just get an LS
