Well in the grand scheme of things, $2,500 is nothing and with a house in a very desirable area in a seller's market it's worth a shot. I wish I could post the CMA report, the price per sq foot is considerably less than other homes that have sold in the same development in the last 6 months. Plus I can afford it (barely) and this opportunity may not come around again.

Just got back from my agent's office. Looks like they have another offer coming in on the same house so we'll see what happens. The mortgage broker said for this house at this price, they won't require an appraisal.

If the agent makes the suggestion not to budge on the $2500 maybe he/she should cut their commission by that much?

Same story every time. What's in your agent's interest to sell the house for less? Oh heck no, they want to make more money. There's no offer, it's just BS to get you to pay more so they get a higher commission

Thats where I was going with my point...and his agent knows the house is for sale by another agent directly.

Could be true..could be agent blowing smoke. Take ANYTHING an agent/borker/anyone involved in the housing industry racket who deals with the end consumer with a grain of salt! No one really works for you.

Well, we will see what happens. They have until the day after tommorow to accept or decline the offer. Until then, all I can do is hope for the best.
