Well, after thinking about it I've decided to make an offer on #1. I've looked in about 20 houses, drove by probably 30 more and have decided this one has a lot going for it, the things that irritate me can be changed.

Only problem with #1, is where to put big-screen? You probably don't want it in front of the window and you really don't want it facing the window so, the only alternative I see, is to take the mantle off the fireplace and put the big-screen in front of that. Putting the TV in a corner will make it really hard to set up surround sound.

Well the space above the garage can be converted (at least the seller says so, she allegedly talked to a couple contractors and it can be done without violating any codes) into living space because the ceilings are so high. Home theater maybe?
