I’m saying I can’t remember peoples phone numbers or middle names but I remember stupid shit like birthdays or anniversaries or flowers that they like or dislike.

I’m also saying that within 3 seconds of meeting someone in the checkout lane , I can totally nail their attitude and react to them.

Example - customer came thru my line with Ben and Jerry’s ‘Tin Roof’ ice cream and I simply said ‘Rusted’ and the entire line and cashier just burst out laughing. I picked up a paper bag and dropped it lic a microphone.

 

I'm saying I do the exact same thing, more out of necessity than anything. I need to get the upper hand on them just in case they try to pull one over on me. I need to know their MO immediately or they can take advantage of the situation if I don't.

I’m also reminded of the time a couple days ago that I was walking a customer out and there was a customer walking in that had the fuzzy lion slippers on and i stopped and said to her ‘ let’s switch shoes ‘ and we did while she shopped.
Management was like ‘WTF Dave’ ??? I just said I’m having fun - and they were like ‘That’s great - need more like you’.
