I'm curious to why you are so disenchanted with domestic law enforcement.
Jason I can say that your explanation of career to this point is extremely mature and I absolutely respect your decision. I have heard people in my position say things, to people making the same as you, such as "you're a quitter" and etc. I have always disagreed with that. For someone that serves proudly, and does their job well, the only thing I have ever said before parting is "thank you for your tremendous contribution. Wish I still had your services but also wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors. And if you ever need anything that I can help with please don't hesitate to call."
But I have in the last 4 to 5 years realized that domestic law enforcement is more corrupt than organized crime. Sure there are some that do a very noble job, and do it for pretty modest pay considering the danger involved. To those very, very few I give much accolades. But the punk@$$ bitch that decides someone in a decent car, driving in a safe manner, needs a ticket for exceeding the speed limit is ridiculous. Even more so is the elitist attitude that same cowardly punk@$$ exudes as he hands over that ticket. It turns my stomach. And unfortunately, I believe those are the people that occupy 90% or more of the positions in domestic law enforcement.
I'm sorry to hear that. All my experiences with law enforcement have been positive. I've been pulled over 5 times. Once in high school in my hometown of Vacaville, CA for trying to beat a yellow light. Once in Honolulu for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. Once in Kauai for an illegal pass (I was driving a rental car, a Dodge Neon, and tried to pass a cargo truck on a two lane road. That 3 speed auto and anemic 4 cyl. couldn't muster enough speed for me to complete the pass in time and a car in the opposite and oncoming lane had to take evasive action. Nothing drastic but I shouldn't have tried to pass.) Twice in Washington, once for not using a turn signal and no front plate and once for having my headlights blacked out on my Chevy. (don't ask
) In all the instances I was treated respectfully and in all instances I was let off with a warning. No run ins with east coast law enforcement although I lived in Groton, CT for about a year while attending Submarine School. Is it an east coast law enforcement thing maybe?

I'm saying my day has gotten better. I just got of the phone with my g/f and found out she is coming over and spending the night. And she didn't just pick up my place, she also dusted my 1:18 scale cars that are not in display cases. No small feat as there are 57 of them!
