no problems at all. of course, i have a roof 24/7 so i can't really comment... i don't know what it would be like in direct sunlight it's bright enough to do fine.the only time would be with the headlights on during the day..it's not the greatest.. but then again, no HU is during the day .

I have been "told" that the 420i is painfully slow with large collections. If this is true (not an iPod owner yet myself) I am going to want a newer Alpine hu with the direct connection/full-speed
