We have a 32" LCD Sharp Aquos and very happy with it
I think that LCD pictures seem to have slightly better clarity than plasma, and from what I have read, plasma burn out rate is worse than that of LCD.

plasma blows. stay away.
LCD rocks. the Mitsu is tops in my book, just visually speeking. I can't wait until we get OLED's. That is the future my friends.
I have a flat 16:9 tube until then. it does whatever the lowest HD is 480i ? is that it. It'll do for awhile. until I step into the 1080 arena
