Food.
If the chow is top-notch, then I'm satisfied. If they take too long to bring the check, I just get up and head for the door. More often then not, they catch me before I leave and ask me if I was planning to pay for it. I usually tell them that I was indeed planning to pay for it, but I figured they must've stuck the check in the mail since it was taking so damn long.
oddly enough, the server/manager never see's the humor in that statement.

Depends on what your looking for....
I can deal with ok food if the restaurant has great atmosphere i.e. a good date place.
If I'm out with da boyz, then food quality be damned. I go for "scenery"

Stands for:
To Insure Prompt Service
Way back when it used to be you would lay your cards (the tip) on the table before the meal arrived! And depending on the level of service you would add/subtract from it to adjust for the service.
