Dude, you shoulda just started laughing out loud. That's what I do when I hear ignorance. I feel sorry for that dude though, it wasn't very nice of you to park your bad ass car next to his mini while his gf was there to see At least he didn't say, no way, my car is way faster then that thing....although that's probably what was said once they were in the car lol. Don't let it get to you man, the chick obviously knew the answer to her question by the answer she was given and she obviously dug the car or she wouldn't have asked.

Yesterday afternoon I was in my 'Lude (Lola) at a red light waiting to get on a turnpike. It's common knowledge to most around here who use this route that about a mile up the road the two lanes merge to one for a bridge. Up along my right side (the lane that ends) pulls up some punk kid in Mommy or Daddy's Volvo S80...he keeps inching up on the line....waiting to try and take me. I look at him and roll my eyes. The light goes green and we both take off.

First mistake....the kid floors it and peels...I get the jump...this doesn't phase him though...he keeps comin. But as soon as Lola hit her VTEC second wind he was flooring it, but eating my dust.....when he finally gave up and got behind me I flashed my hazards once to let him know what's up.

He should have known he was overweight and out classed. He didn't attempt to pass me again I doubt he would have tried to do the same thing is I wasn't in the 'Lude...which I like...because nobody ever sees it coming

Good move not trying to race him. people that stupid don't even deserve the effort. I would have just laughed and asked if he was dropped as a child.

future response - "Mini eh? Saving up for a real car?"

I know , I know... it's cold and rude, and Mini's are great little cars, but sometimes the jackhole in the drivers seat needs to be made aware...

I thought about getting a Mini as a beater. Test drove it. It handles well but I think for $25k, I can get a WRX which blows it away (or spend $5K more and get an STi which will really beat up a Mini)..

Ah well, it's OK.

But if the road wasn't wet or I didn't have food in my car....

Oh, when I was test driving it, the sales person said that The Mini holds the record for slalom. The next highest is Porsche GT2. That's probably where he gets the idea that Minis outhandle S2000s.

Just wait till we get to a track....

I am totally against street racing, but it's instances like that where I want to prove something...I never do, but those people make me mad.

I really like the Mini. If I had room for one (not that I need much ), I'd take one.

As for whether it can out-corner an S2000... It's possible, I guess.
