All of those hoods are damn ugly, IMO. They totally ruin the lines of the car; they contrast too much with the smooth lines. The Mugen hood (the one with all those damn vents) is more suitable to say, a Prelude or an IS300, which has crisper, more pronounced lines and creases in the bodywork.

As for the front bumper, wickster, I think it looks pretty good. The only thing is, you'd better have the proper CAI. That intake hole would be hardcore ricey if it wasn't functional. Other than that, I say go for it.

I myself still have 100% stock bodywork, not even an OE lip or spoiler. I don't plan on any bodywork, either. Doesn't make sense to me. I guess you guys like to "personalize" your cars?

I'm sure the Mugen bumper is functional, in that it has better cooling, but I've yet to have a cooling problem, even on hardcore trackdays in 100

And just for the record, all my mods are based purely on function. Sure, it also has to look good, but first and foremost, it has to actually do something good for the car.

And all of those other hoods are just tacky. To hell with the carbon-fiber. The stock aluminum hood is just as light and strong as the carbon-fiber ones, if not even more so. The carbon-fiber hood is purely to show off. Also, those cooling vents? Please. If your car is used to ~175mph, I could maybe see a problem with getting that air out of the engine compartment, but I doubt our S2000s can come anywhere close to 175mph. I know mine can't.
Alex, have you seen Harry Cash's (hecash) hood? He took a stock hood and vented it in the low pressure areas near the back corners of the hood. The vents are downward, so the lines of the car are unaffected. The venting does help keep the engine cool, particularly if you run FI or a highly tuned engine such as yours. While you may not have had overheating issues, a cooler engine bay leads to a cooler engine and thus more power. You should know that.

And while I agree about your weight comments, the stock hood is actually quite flimsy - of course it's not a structural part, so it's no big deal. The CF hoods are orders of magnitude stronger though.
