Women priests
Hi all,
(disclaimer: I'm not trying to start a flame war. I'm just trying to get an opinion from those who believe. Thank you).

(second disclaimer: I don't know how to do that URL thing, so please cut and paste. Sorry!!)
OK, now that we dispensed with the pleasantries...
I disagree with the Vatican. I think those women should be allowed to be priests. I thinks those pedophiles should NOT allowed to be priests. Apparently, the Vatican does not think so.
In the 20th century, I believe men are superior to women. But it is now the 21st century, they are our equal. My gf thinks women are better than men (but that is another topic).

Same here, however there are some donominations that I think are still sincere and genuine. A few churches in our area have alot of programs that help the community and sincerely care for certain groups.
However I am sick and tired of seeing other donominations that protect paedophiles by covering up the crimes and ignoring the victims.

I don't agree with religion at all. I think alot of it breeds fanatics through, as Andy said, a false confidence.
However I do think that some religious groups offer great services to the local community in the form of food shelters and cheap/free accomodation to those that genuinely need it.

I agree to an extent Peter, but the community services themselves don't need to have a religious link. We have a number of charities in England providing those sorts of services but without a religious background.
Religion does give a crutch to some people in times of need, but I also think that overall, looking in global terms, it probably does as much bad as good (if not more!!).

I agree that they don't need a religious link, but I think that most if not all religions are based on doing good, therefore in order to gain a better reputation I think that they should look to do good for those that need it instead of being too concerned with how they need to keep up with current trends or getting involved with political issues.
A good reputation comes from your actions and integrity. Something that many religions lack due to thier "do as we say, not as we do" nature.
