Today is Michele's 34th birthday, it's a very special birthday.... b/c she is alive to see it
But seriously, she had her monthly check up tuesday and is doing great. She is over 100lbs now and getting stronger everyday. We are going to see Ieda (s/p) the play Elton John wrote in Philadelphia and have dinner.
We are also celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary in Nov. and are currently scoping out some exotic places to have our vows renewed. We are leaning towards somewhere warm and that has a beach so we can renew them there.
We will be inviting friends and family to join us if they would like so we can all celebrate together.
So that's it for now, Kristen will be moving back to the east coast in 2 weeks so I will post a pic of them together once again. I feel that will be a great way to end this thread once I get them together for a final photo.

Charlie,
I am new to the board and we have never met or chatted. My prayers are with you. Let me know if there is anything I could ever help you with.
My best to your wife Charlie. I look forward to meeting you both when possible and look forward to helping if needed.
Sincerely,
Jim

It's been a while since one of my updates. I am sure most of you assume this must be good b/c no news is good news... your right
Michele had her monthly check up today and all went well so good her next follow up will be in 2 months. She is currently weighing in at 114lbs
that's 29lb increase since the first pics I posted after the surgery(and I thought she was doing great then)
But anyway nowadays I look at my wife and can't help but to get a little teary eyed, but they are tears if joy! Her recovery has been nothing short of a miracle. I look forward to everyday now b/c I know it's going to just keep getting better.
Her energy level, appetite, and overall appearance have improved so much I just can't describe it. Michele's disease(well the one she use to have) was the kind that sneaks up on you over a long period of time slowly destroying her liver, health and when you see someone everyday you can't really notice the decline that much. Now that she is getting better I realize just how bad off she was, and marvel at how she struggled with a stressful job that kept her on the road for 2-3 days a week all the way up till 2 weeks before her surgery.
She is quite a woman and I feel lucky to have her by my side.
Although she is improving there is some more to go. She is still going to physical therapy 3 times a week and having some mild side effects from the anti-rejection meds like headaches, some vision loss which required her to get reading glasses, tingling in her legs, night sweats and a slight tremor in her hands. All these are on the mild side and to those who see her have no idea that she is having this reaction to the meds.
Kristen is now in NY beginning her new position there and living in Manhattan. She will be coming down for their family reunion on July 20th. This will be the first time she has seen Michele since the last pic in this thread was taken, that was about 1 month after the surgery and Michele weighed 89lbs, could hardly walk, and unable to get out of a chair. We keep in touch via phone and e-mail and she knows of how well Michele is doing but has yet to see her. I can't wait till they meet again next weekend she will be truly shocked and perhaps the gravity of her kindness will really sink in. Kristen has given the greatest gift anyone can give, I mean it doesn't get any bigger than the gift of life. I still get chills when I think about it.
Anyway that's it for now I will take many pics next weekend when they meet again at the family reunion.
