Golfing heading up toward Pocono...
Hey,
As usual, I'll probably be playing some golf on the way to the track in two weeks.
Just curious if anyone on here ever plays in/around the Easton area. I'm thinking about playing Morgan Hill in Easton then possibly Center Valley. Both are rated top 15 PA courses by Golf Magazine. They're only about 15 minutes apart. Another choice is to play Architects on the NJ side (also rated top 5 NJ courses). I played Neshanic Station on the way up last year, and Northampton 2 years ago.
Anyone who golfs in the area have any ideas?

Really, looking for someone who plays, preferably up there and can recommend a course. Otherwise, I'll just play where I picked or maybe even Buck Hill CC, right next to the house.

I use to play quite a bit, and Hideaway Hills was always a favorite...

2 holes play off the side of a mountain, and another hole has a great island green #15. Relatively inexpensive, very incredible views, quite a challenge. It does have a couple Links style holes...really neat course. One of the holes #7 is a par 3 off of a mountain and the drop is ridiculous. Tough to judge distance. #10 is a par 5 off of a mountain, but the drop off makes it a birdie hole or eagle hole for long hitters. It's an older place, but great golf.

Chris- I've actually played Hideaway Hills, about 15 years ago. A few friends and I went up for the week and played several courses. Looking for something I haven't played before, although after that long, it's probably 'new' to me.
I do remember an island green on a par 4, and I think #7 as you describe it. Didn't know what to hit and put a ball off a roof of some building or house behind/right of the green.

Alright, well I ave one other suggestion...it may be a bit out of the way:

Butter Valley Port is west of the NE Turnpike Ext the other side of Quakertown. The golf isn't all that special, like Mountain View in Ewing, but it does have incredible views during the Fall amongst many pumpkin patches.
What makes it a unique experience and a "must play once" is the active runway that goes through the middle of the course. That's right, small aircraft are taking off and landing as you play holes around the runway. It's an interesting experience.

Thanks Chris. I play mountain view all the time. It's right around he corner.
I play in a league on Mondays after work. We play at Miry Run in Robbinsville, with a runway running up several holes. There was actually a crash there a few years at during league play.
