Default Oil cap snapped

so i was adding a quart of oil to my car and when i went to put the cap back on it snapped off cleanly. luckily none of the plastic went into the engine but i had to unscrew the bottom section out of the whole, no clue how this happened as i hardly applied any pressure when tightening. has this happened to anyone? Would anyone somehow happen to have a spare one i could buy from you? are they vehicle specific or would i be able to get one from autozone/pepboys? otherwise the honda parts dept isnt open til monday

That sucks. I always noticed mine was always very tight. The heat of the motor probably killed it.

Never seen that before, the temp changes from the weather and the motor took it's toll

I replaced my OEM one with an aluminum one, so you could borrow mine but unfortunately I'm nowhere near you...

You should be able to find a suitable replacement at a parts store until u can get an oem one fromthe dealer.

We've broken more than one. I have replaced the OEM with an aluminum and haven't had a problem since. As an added plus you get that JDM bling under the hood

Bling blind aluminum! I lost my plastic one, but got an aluminum replacement. It hasn't happened to me, but I guess it could happen to anyone.

Or like clint said, you sure you're not a beast?? Beneath that average exterior are MUSCLEZSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!*#)*HG$# with 2tons of turning torque! Man what strong forearms you must have.....
