Oil Cap came off
Just a reminder to all to make sure you really tighten the oil cap on these cars. Mine came off yesterday somewhere during my 40 mile commute. The symptoms were a faint fuel odor coming from the vents, and at slower speeds, the engine sounded "throatier". I change my own oil, and have had the gasket on the oil filter stick to the engine block (caught that one). The o-ring (not really an o-ring, more of a gasket) on the oil cap had come off, so I put it back in and screwed the cap down. Maybe I should have replaced the gasket? Evidently, the high revving I do must have worked the cap loose and eventually off while I was driving. Good thing I took the car in for the sparkplug TSB, that could have caused a real disaster. Surprisingly, didn't loose much oil at all (maybe 1/4 quart). Anyway, this issue has been covered before... Anyone know how much a new cap will cost? Do dealers stock this part or will they have to order it?

You could get an aluminum oil cap like this one http://mptuningusa.com/catalog/product_inf...2b1b2ff26b1ea4b
Kind of pricey at $45, but I don't have a clue as to what a stock oil cap costs. There has been at least one report of the stock plastic oil cap coming apart in several pieces during removal. So, the aluminum cap might not be a bad option.

I think many have found that the plastic ring gets stuck on the valve cover on some occasions and becomes "crooked" on other occasions. Always make sure that it is well seated in its groove in the cap. Also, it has only one correct orientation - you cannot flip it upside down. When the ring is in place, you do not need to over-tighten the cap. The ring does not need to be changed ever unless it gets damaged.
