Default I am forgetful

This morning, I topped off my oil. I was way too tired, I guess. I drove 2 miles to work, and 2 miles back home.

I was just now about to go get dinner, started the car, and smelled gasoline and thought that this was a little strange.

I opened the hood, and of course, my oil cap was gone, replaced by a little oil spillage, whoops.

To commemorate my dumb luck (ie.: not going days, or weeks, or months (gasp!)) of not noticing the missing oil cap, my replacement is a shiny new spoon cap, haha.

The moral is, uhh, don't forget to put your oil cap back on.

Edit: Nevermind, those things are way too expensive, hah.

Just wait until you have this "strange rattle" coming from behind the engine. You'll eventually fish out your previous oil cap from behind the heat shield with a coat hanger.....

I remember mine came off once, I got a temporary one from kragen and ordered another honda one. When my honda one finally came in, I went to put it on with my roommate keeping me company. So as I reached to put it on he was like hey, isn't that ur old one right there? Sure enough, lodged between the firewall and the engine was my missing cap. : /

I'm at the age when forgetfulness gets blamed on being old. I went to Dyess AFB to get some beer/gas up the S and on the way had my billfold out to show my ID card at the front gate. Initially I just dropped the billfold on the passenger seat but decided a few seconds later to put it in the center console out of sight. So I pull into the gas station and reach over to the passenger seat to get my billfold and I CAN'T FIND IT! Looked under the seat, in front of the seat, in back of the seat. No billfold. Got back in and then it dawned on me. Oh right it's in the center console. They say that short term memory is the first to go.

Actually it's the second thing to go, but you can't remember what the first thing was.
