Radio Problems
Does anyone local have a stock head unit I could borrow. My driver side speakers are cutting in and out. I figure if I'm going to take out the head unit to see if its working correctly or not, I'd like to have another unit to try while things are apart. That would give me the confidence to know that its the unit or the speakers or wire/connection somewhere.
Let me know, hopefully local enough to pick up.
I'm in no hurry, its more of an annoyance than anything else.
Thanks- Gary

Gary, I have mine if you need it...I work in Hamilton, NJ and may be the closest to you. PM me if you want to borrow. I have something at 2 pm on Sunday, but available anytime before...or we can meet during the week.
Let me know

Thanks Chris- today likely won't work.
Where in Hamilton do you work? I play golf at Miry Run in Robbinsville Monday after work, so head through the area around 4 PM. If you work later, I'm at Hamilton Lanes on Thursdays nights by 7:15 for our dart league.
Let me know if either of those times work to meet on the way or if there's another day. I think I'm working from home on Tuesday, so lunch then might also be a good window.

Chris- I think I'm ready to return your unit. I swapped them this evening and same problem.
Anyone with radio/electronics experience want to chime in: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/967...#entry21889723
Basically, the right speakers are fine, the left are either both very low when I move the balance to the LEFT or the lower door speaker is out and the tweeter is still working. I have to experiment some more to figure out if the sound level on just the tweeter is normal or not. Tough to tell when comparing one speaker to two when they are that close together (without tearing the doors apart.

^^ Sorry to hear it didn't work out. Audio is not my thing, so I really can't help further other than offering a guess. My guess is the wiring connector to the door speaker has fallen off or is loose. I had a Prelude once with a similar issue, but it was easy to get that speaker out without taking the door apart. Which I think is what you have to do on the S2k.
Feel free to bring the HU by my office any afternoon in the next few weeks. I'm in no hurry, so whatever works for your schedule. Just give me a heads up on day/time so I can make sure not to conflict with meetings. We'll work it out, no rush.
Good Luck!
