stock for stock...whats faster though
stock to stock GTI DSG or 6speed or stock to stock vs. s2000?
s2000 will win in the 1/4 by about .5 sec. The GTI will have it early but then the S will pull up top.

ah ok... i read over on the gti forums that the gti blows the s2k out of the water. most were saying its not even a race. they were citing races where its clear the other guy wasn't going, but i just had to ask.

The GTI is at best I think a 14.4 1/4 stock. I know a few people pulling 13.9 1/4 stock on a s2k.

Another small issue is the weight of the car. It's 3100lbs which is about 250lbs more then an S2000. If it weighed 2850lbs, then you would most likely be in the 14.1-14.3 1/4 range

i know that and you know that.... but they don't.... its like when people here say that a stock s2k is on par with a LS1, except these guys are saying the s2k isn't a even a close race. no tq. blah blah blah

I beat a stock GTI from a dig a little while ago. I didn't even launch and neither did the GTI, but it was a comfortable even roll off the light. We gunned it at about 5mph and I took him by nearly a car by the top of third, barely shifting at VTEC, yet alone redline.

Good luck with the car.

i had many disagreements over that issue with my old roomie that had an 07 GTI - he asked me to race him but i always turned him down.

I'm 99.99% sure, stock to stock, an S2000 will win. As previously mentioned, it will be close down low, but the S will win up top...

he now has well over 300whp so its not an issue any longer

here is a couple of his, for your viewing pleasure

Stock S2000's will beat a stock GTI. The problem is a stock "looking" GTI can be 300whp without looking/sounding modified. It's hard to make a S2000 300whp without it looking heavily modified.

vortech under the hood looks stock on the outside...plus used can be had for around $2500 it is a good looking car, i would consider it as a DD.
