Why can't Alien 5 track them back to their home planet (not the planet that the alien ship had crashed on in Alien 1)?
I would LOVE to see a movie version of the Aliens: Genocide comic book series.

see the original script for Alien vs. Predator was good. it started out as predators hunting on a remote planet then happen to go to another planet with aWeyland Yutani experimental facility that dealt with aliens. All hell breaks loose, then colonial marines come in to put out the fire, everyone gets owned, end of movie. damn good script.

yes there was a Pre-Alien in this one too.

I read this like 5 years ago as "Alien vs. Predator: movie you'll never see"

ing great, i would have much rather have seen this version but like everything else in hollywood, GAY!

omg so TRUE! hhahaha my friends were saying that this movie was gonna be "Armageddon" and then all of a sudden they bust out a big ass drill... hahaha
i think the icing on the crap cake was when the chick was given a friggin alien head as a shield... until the whole "alliance" it was at least fun to look at

I just saw it last night, knowing what I was going into....a cheezy commercialized movie.

I thought it was entertaining....ie I wasn't bored. Yes, the alien head shield was lame, and the whole alliance thing.

Things I thought were cool - The aliens were more sinister than Alien 3 and Resurrection. Those camera shots down the dark hallway and you see the face of the alien slowly emerging from the darkness was cool. I thought the predators looked better as overpowering, large creatures.

The sucky parts - Since when did alien gestation take 5 minutes? The queen was huge in this one...much larger than the one in Aliens. The queen chase thru the whaling station reminded me of the T-Rex chasing the Jeep scene in Jurassic Park. Did I mention the alliance thing? And the "Predalien" thing at the end....gee, that just took the whole human element out of the series. Aliens and Predators battling out on a Predator ship, the dialogue on that one is going to be sweeeet.....

Just saw this. I had fun. Certainly not as good as Alien/Aliens and lacked the surprise of Predator, but it was fun.
As to the Predalien...that keeps to the Alien mythos, the xenomorph takes on some of the DNA of its host, e.g. the dog based Alien in #3.

This hasn't opened in the UK yet so I hadn't seen any reviews. As a fan of the Alien franchise (well, at least the first two anyway) and sci-fi more generally, I was really hoping that they managed to turn this into a decent film. Looks like it's average, at best

(Coincidentally, I've just started playing the AvP2 game on PC again for the first time in a couple of years. How much better would it have been to adopt the plot of that - referred to by someone above - or something similar and make something more along the lines of Aliens, with colonial marines stuck in the middle of an Alien/Predator bust up? Missed opportunities )
