whoever wins....

we lose....

our money!!!!!

what a disappointment, one of the biggest diappointments of my entire life. i was such a fan of these movies in the past. i kind of knew it was going to be horrible, but i just had to see it to complete myself in watching all of the aliens and predator movies. if you are not sure of watching this movie, then don't see it. i you are a sci-fi buff like me and you just have to, catch the matinee, but don't spend 10 bucks on it.

peace.

i just saw it tonight and i thought it was more of a comedy than an action flick.
At least it was better then I expected. Couldn't stop laughing at the part when the predator created the armor and weapon for the chick Anyone waiting for AVP 2 *Predator looking Alien*

I was entertained too. It certainly was not as good as I had hoped but not as bad as I feared.

Saw the Resident Evil : Apocalypse trailer before the movie. Looks like a lot of action. Hopefully it will be better than the first, which I enjoyed, but could have been better.

Saw it last night. . .

Though there were a few nice action scenes, the film was weak. . . very weak (even for a summer sci-fi/action flick). Definitely more humor than terror/fear.

I will not be paying $10 to see a sequel (can you say HBO).

Recommendation: Wait for video or cable.

With all the tools, resources and money, this is the culmination of the studios effort? I too,am a huge fan of Alien & Predator movies, but this was such a major let down.It was halfway decent till the middle then absolutely no imagination for plot, especially action seqences that barely rivalled Barney the dinasour! Goes to show if the right team of people had been in place that actually cared about the project,it could have stood on it's own and been very unique and a big crowd pleaser.

The idea of an Aliens vs. Predator movie fills me with disgust. It's ok as a comic book, but to actually make a movie out of it seems like a serious mistake.

The Alien movies as a series have mostly been examples of serious cinema. Each one directed by a different cutting-edge director. Each one a different kind of story, with a different feel and theme. They have never been "just about the monster." They were about humanity's endless capacity for greed. Humanity's meddling in creation, both with robotics and genetic manipulation. Humanity's reaction to a natural force greater than it's own self-centered schemes.

Now we get an exploitation film that is nothing better than those idiotic Universal monster movies from the 40s. "Frankenstein vs. the Wolfman" or whatever. It's really frustrating to seem them pluck out the monster from the story, and thrust it into an empty shell just to hear the cash register ring.

I'm really afraid the Aliens series cannot recover from this. I WAS hoping that we would eventually see another serious Alien movie, maybe even directed by Ridley Scott himself, but now I fear it will never happen. This AVP movie will flop, and then 20th Century Fox will never OK another REAL Alien movie again.
Makes a whole lot sense from that POV

Dammit, the movie sucked big time. The costumes of Predators was terrible compared to the original. It looked so fake and bloated. I only can hope but I wouldn't hold my breath though, that the next AVP 2 will be R rated and be given a bigger budget and cast as well as a much needed freaking story. On the other hand, they should NEVER make a movie of Aliens or Predator ever again.

Cant wait till the sequel "AVP2 - The wedding".
Will Steve Martin give the predator away or will the Hive Queens baby be Garfield!?

Those wacky movie creative types!

Why can't Alien 5 track them back to their home planet (not the planet that the alien ship had crashed on in Alien 1)?

Alien 1 & 2 rocked, 3 & 4 sucked.
