Default Best sleeper movies.....

I like to find movies that may not have had a lot of attention but are suprisingly good. Everyone has different taste but maybe some could post a few movies that were good but others may not have heard of.

A few of my favorites that have been passed over....

Dead Calm (suspense)
Red Rock West (suspense/caper)
Kalifornia (suspense)
Crumb (depressing documentary)
American Splendor (somewhat biographical movie of 60's comic artist)
A Midnight Clear (WWII)
A Bridge Too Far (WWII failry well known in 1977 but not known by younger crowd)

Some others that are much more well known but passed over by the masses....

Usual Suspects (caper)
The Ring (horror suspense)
Adaptation (drama/comedy)
Drop Dead Goregeous (comedy I found VERY funny despite Kirstie Alley, but I am from MN and the movie gets most of its humor by picking on Minnesotans)
Momento (drama/suspense)

any others???????

Definitely Momento; I'm constantly surprised at the number of people who never saw it but 100% of those that have (that I've run into, anyway) can't say enough about it.

If I recall, I don't think Fight Club did all that well in theaters, but did really well on video.

How about The Hudsucker Proxy? Does that count as a sleeper? Can't remember how well it did at the box office. I can't even remember it being in theaters, but I can't stop watching in on video.
