Default Cloverfield Project

Netflix.
its correctly called the Cloverfield Paradox...there is no paradox that I can see,but it sounds great I guess....
This is a prequel or a sequel to Cloverfield,it's hard to tell. That's a small, very small, part of the story. The special effects are very good. there is a cast of unknowns . The story is a mess of things thrown together along with lots of running down hallways, the cheesy nod to the first film, and some sort of resolution or conclusion. I got what this was supposed to be about, but it was a mess....No spoilers, you will need to find out yourself, keep in mind while watching if you find stuff that makes no sense in terms of the plot that is what this movie is all about. 0 out of 10.

We watched it last night. They did kind of phone it in on a lot of it. Entertaining if you are just sitting around and need something to watch.

The "paradox" is wrong in that it is not the definition of a paradox ... :P More of a risk, issue, etc that could have caused a paradox ... I dunno

I assumed this was a sequel or later event from Cloverfield as the first movie happened in current day, while the new one happens in the future.

Is this another scifi B fake docu style movie with bouncing home video, or a legit cinema movie? Cloverfield lane is totally different then the first, and had me a bit confused, thinking it was going to be more of what this movie sounds like it is. However cloverfield lane seemed much more quality with real acting and script ( no bouncing home video)

It was not the docu style movie like the first movie. It was more of a regularly filmed movie. Acting was so so ... mostly people I have never heard of. I think the overall premise of the movie was ok if it had been written better. Seemed like the movie was rushed through production. Like I said, I would probably not go out of my way to watch it over other things, but if you are looking for something to watch one night, it kept we watching, although a bit bored at times. However, for me that is not uncommon. I rarely can make myself sit through a whole movie. I get bored easily with anything longer than 30 minutes it seems. I hate the concept these days that movies have to be 2.5+ hours. I rarely will watch those. Tarantino can make me sit and watch his long movies without budging, but most just bore me after 1.5 hours.

I never watched the second (and apparently there is a third?) Cloverfield, but pretty quickly had my idea of how this one related and per the end, I think I was correct. This is not a spoiler at all, but you know in the first movie it seemed apparent at the end the govt was covering up something about the whole thing. Well watching this one, I think it in some way tells you what that was. At least in my take on it. It does explain what probably brought on the monster in the first one.
