I am surprised there has not been more written here about the series. It was fantastic and some of the best TV I have seen since True Detective. This is a dark comedy of characters set a few years ago in a similar setting as the original film. Of special note the character played by Billy Bob Thorton is memorable. The story has many twists and turns and you just never know where it will end up or begin again. Elements of the film are referenced but it is a different animal all together. I give it a 9.5 outta 10, well done all around.

OK, we are now into series 2. Fargo in 1979, new characters. Well written, dark, gratuitous in it's violence at times. Well cast, most are unknown B actors but they are well directed. the story unfolds slowly as each episode is more than an hour long. I love this show, season 1 was superbly done. Season 2 is starting out well.
i am surprised more of you have not chimed in on this series. It's the Coen Brothers even.

I have seen commercials for it but never thought much of it. Partly because I haven't even seen the Fargo movie, haha!

I've seen the movie many times and I was pretty skeptical the series would be in the same class.
But I love it, think it's even better than the awesome movie

So second series over now, finale was sort of a epilogue. On whole an excellent series standing on it's own... Some unanswered questions, these characters I suspect will not be back as it takes place in Fargo area 1979. I look forward to the new series and some new characters, next year, aye, you betcha...

Loved the original movie, lIke the series as well.

Nice format, too, with 6 or 8 shows to tell a story and get it wrapped up.
