Dictionaries are _so_ last century. Still, I appreciate your sentiment and am glad you are expanding your vocabulary. And, for what it's worth, I love me some OED. Compact edition, of course.

Dear Ron:

Please remind all others to follow the thread rules and pose their statements to you.

Thank you,
From Cincy

My work here has reminded me that "rules" imply an attempt to impose an alternate order over behavior that emerges from root causes. The laws of physics and information theory at the Institute, the nature of those that weave this thread here.

Rather than expend that energy I think I'll watch emergent behavior that balances on the razor of probability between order and chaos, the realm where we find complexity.

The weather here is great.

Even though I thought of Northern California as a chilly place, I find that the bright sunny days and dry humidity can make it feel hot even with temperatures in the fifties and sixties.

Enjoy your snow. I'm ready to reenter the seasons. They act as a series of deadlines for life. Without them, I fear the fate of the Lotus Eater.
