Ok! I've processed my first compact flash paper label off the film pack according to Ron's instructions. Since I am a careful photographer, and I doubt all this digital stuff, I did take saftey shots with my old gear. Here are some results:
With Velvia 50 on my Nikkormat FT, and a 200mm lens:

And the same image on the new digital setup, I used the 18-200mm lens here with my new D90, lens was set at about 50mm:

Since our club is all about cars, I did some test car shoots also:
Nikkormat FT, conditions as above:

And with the digital D90 setup:

It may be that I have not learned how to use the digital set up well, in only a day, but these differences seem a little excessive.
