Yeah...I guess the fact that I am a little crazy has something to do with it.
I will be talking to the authorities on Thursday in Knoxville and plan to do the same after Alcoa (Blount County Sherriff's patrol). My goal this weekend is to have everyone SAFE. Also, I don't want folks to assume we are going to be bats outta hell during the event.
The drive to the Dragon on Saturday will be very controlled and within legal limits. When we arrive to the Dragon, we will stop for a rest and our traditional Driver's meeting. In this meeting, I will stress the importance of safe and sensible driving. Not to sound like Smokey the Bear, but only YOU can prevent wreckless driving.
Use the track to test the limits of your driving and your car, not the public roadway.
See everyone soon.
Meanwhile, a prayer and deepest sympathy for the young man who lost his life in this accident.

I was there this weekend on Sat with zero police prescence with my beater trying desperately to destroy the kumho 711 tires. Just as someone else posted I heard on the radio that they will step up the prescence this weekend and that even before this weekend that the prescence was stepped up on the NC side. Of course there are only so many spots that they can hide on the dragon!!!
