I'll volunteer to head out early Saturday morning on a scouting mission and be waiting at the gravel lot when everyone arrives. Anyone with me?
Good Morning S2Kers! I thought I would take a second and add some info that you might find usefull.
As you might know, law enforcement on the dragon has gotten tight. The past few times I have been, there has been a very strong presence. At any given time, you will see a black Blount Co cruiser parked at the state line, THP cruisers running radar either at the boundary round or on the dragon itself, THP harleys, Knoxville City Harleys, Knox county BMWs (bikes) as well as Knoxville City and Knox County cruisers. Thats not to mention the Murphy County Helicopter that watches for lane-crossers and radios the info the the THP units at either end. Last weekend, I had a THP Harley pace me the whole 11 miles back. By the time he turned around, I needed that fork in the golve box the get the seat fabric out of my butt crack from were I was puckered up! Not a fun run. I learned from a friend that part of the reason for the enhanced presence is the shooting last fall (3-sport bikers and a couple of pick-ups w/bass boats..one biker did the shooting).
From the sounds of things, there will be alot of seriously sweets rides there this weekend. Have fun, be careful..yes..you can do both...and if you see a black srt w/a silver dragon sticker on the back, i'm not racing...i'm just trying to get out of the way of 100+ S2K's!
See ya,
Don
