Yes, we saw this. The bikers started patting down our speed about half a mile before we came to a roadblock and many fire trucks. The Dragon was closed for a short time while they winched the remains of the bike onto a flatbed.

I've got some pictures and I'll post them later. Right now, I'm going back over to drive the Dragon.

I'm sure the firefighters will do their jobs well. Lets just pray they don't get harmed in the process. Nothing fun I'd imagine about trying to handle a fire on a side of a mountain with a water-pumper

[QUOTE]We all hope for a safe and fun time at The Dragon. But we must be aware of possible disasters, natural and man made, that could befall us. Contemplation of the bad things that might happen at Deals Gap will better help us avoid such disasters and to deal with those that might arise beyond our control and in spite of our efforts to keep everything safe.

With this in mind, here are some possible disaster headlines at WTD 2008:

Per the article:

That fire got started after a motorcyclist crashed, and his motorcycle caught fire.

As for the motorcyclist who crashed, officials said he got up and walked away without any serious injuries.

We heard about this word-of-mouth (the status of the biker). This guy was born under a lucky star.

Thursday night I went through around 11 and it was wicked to have all that burning above you. I didn't know what was going on at the time.
