Oh, while I'm here, I guess I should report that I made it home safe as well...2470 traveling miles later:

> Boston (home) to South Bend, IN: 900 miles. I picked up new S02s direct from Tire Rack...Got to tour their facility and watch the pros install my tires on their assembly line. After buying so many tires from these guys over my lifetime, it was great to see the 'Taj Mahal' of tires in person! Sure they ship, but I figured South Bend wasn't too far out of the way to Cincinnati

> South Bend, IN to Cincinnati, OH: 250 miles. As usual, I took my detour to the Dragon via Cincinnati to pick up my beloved Cincinnati Caravan - Can't miss that!

> Dragon to Boston (home): 995 miles. Made it back safe and sound, despite nasty traffic and nasty rain!

Why do my friends think I'm nuts that I drove 2470 miles to partake in a driving event just to drive more on top of that figure?

I've given up trying to explain why I fly across the country, then drive all day, just to drive some more... and not even actually drive most of the time.
