Not many manufacturers are going to make a 4 or 5 oz insulated cup, which is what you'd end up with after the space taken up by the double-wall vacuum barrier. However, somebody does have an after-market solution...hmmm...who could that be?

1 - It needs the support of the flat side of the tunnel
2 - Many of my products are designed for me, and I have a short reach and that height is better
3 - Lower gets in the way of a passenger even more
You could try mounting the clip at the top edge of the cup holder, which will lower it a couple inches, but it will be harder to un-clip.
