Some people SUCK!
PrimoGen - what's your point? I'm not sure what you "re-read" that made you into such a "believer or non-believer." But you can't say your support the events and then in the same breath say you support me and my Team but advise folks that they don't have to pay.
You're right...this is America man...land of the FREE. THEY don't have to pay. But if they EVER want to be involved in another WTD or DBR, they had better. I won't be crossed twice and if you really want to hammer it out...I should be asking them to pay the entire amount to include their t-shirt, lanyard, magnet and itinerary as they ALL have associated COSTS.

I got a PM back from CopMagnet, who had not been able to get to his e-mail, and has not been on the board. He said he was sending out a check also.
So a good guy, who's been VERY busy, gets called names, but still steps up.
I guess all it really took was politely asking him.

This is sort of like if someone went to his friends and said "Hey, you want to go to the concert with us? I am going to buy tickets. Do you want some?" Friend says "yep, I'm in go ahead and buy me a ticket."
Now, later something comes up and "Friend" can't go for whatever reason. Is Friend legally obligated to pay for the ticket? Of course not. Is Friend being a jerk if he does not pay for the ticket or find someone else to buy it? Of course he is. Friend has a moral obligation to make good on the ticket.

Sorry, I just had to poke in.
I'm sure things will be changed for the next event to avoid this mess.

my friend buying tickets for me is not in the habit of offering this service not only to me but hundreds of other people all over the country twice a year. If he was, he would most likely have a payment policy set in stone so he does not get burned by people.
I, being the person who cant go to this concert also has the option of paying for the tickets and then finding someone else to give them to or........wait for it........sell them again to get a refund, something not offered in our current scenario.
Again you guys and gals are making this too affable. As cool as everybody is with everybody it is not a simple buddy-buddy thing. You have people, who don't know people, spending and collecting money. The system HAS to be sterilized and so should the arguments presented here.
Yes, Primo, I agree. This is not a buddy-buddy thing but that is how this event evolved -- from a buddy-buddy thing into a far larger event. I agree that obviously, things will need to change in the future possibly to the detriment of some potential attendees.
I still maintain that the folks who signed up have a moral obligation to pay up. As far as banning them from future events sponsored by the Carolinas group, that is strictly up to them and they certainly have the ability to do so if they wish.
