Suggestions for future events

On the whole I like Fontana, there are a few things they could do better but I really like the location and proximity to the Dragon and other great roads in the area. I have tried cabins and lodge rooms and I prefer a lodge room they seem to be kept in better condition. Also I like the rustic setting, something about staying in a “regular hotel” in Robbinsville, Alcoa etc. just doesn’t do it for me.
The quality of the food is good in my opinion. Rain forced us indoors last minute on Friday night and the food suffered as a result (I wouldn’t even try a burger they looked bad). If the burgers and dogs had been cooked on the grills outdoors on the ball field it would have been a regular cookout and I am sure it would have been fine.
I attended DBRX (my first DBR event) and the Saturday evening banquet was served in the lodge vs the banquet hall. The difference in the quality of the food was very noticeable. The lodge banquet food was excellent!
Obviously the lodge banquet room isn’t big enough to hold the larger attendance of WTD vs the smaller group for DBR events so I think half of the WTD folks (you know who you are)
should stay home so we can have the Saturday banquet in the lodge for WTD events.
Seriously this proves Fontana is capable of a great meal and maybe it is a logistics or personnel issue. Are the meals prepared in different kitchens onsite? Could the Lodge Kitchen and or staff prepare the Saturday banquet regardless of the location it is served?
Overall the event is well done by all involved and I appreciate all the work and effort that goes into it. Thank you!
Oh and for the DBR event in the fall can we please not have it the weekend of September 17th & 18th, I have a very important event that weekend that I cannot change and if you have DBR I may have to get divorced to attend.

+1 to this. If it were earlier in Sept. then Indyana and another FL member would definitely be able to attend.As first time WTD attendees, Evil S2K and I are chomping at the bit to get back up there and drive the dragon.
