Suggestions for future events
There are some good suggestions here. I really like the idea of using the radios during the Poler Run. It may help people who are unfamiliar with the route or looking for a little sympathy when they are running late for a stop. Some other suggestions that I recieved for the Poker run involve getting more volunteers to handle the rush of cars. Another was to consider filling in hands for people who don't make all the stops. As for where we hold the event, there are a lot of reasons for holding it at Fontana. The Poker Run is one of those reasons. Moving to Alcoa, all but kills the event. An 1 1/2 hour ride out, a 2 hour drive around, and then the return trip makes it too long. I suppose I could cruise the Alcoa region for likely stopping places, but if we change the site location, I would have to know very early on, like in the next 6 monts so I can make the drive..
Since most people would be out in the area of the Dragon..... start it at the paved gravel lot..... or..... ummm.... somewhere around there?
Start it right after lunch? Or make us skip lunch!

I had a blast with the Poker Run... 1st one I have done!

Some good suggestions here; keep them coming!
Yes, we are very limited in our food options for 200+ people in the area, but there are some other lunch options that we will look into. We'll do some polls on registration package options prior to the next event.
The only thing we WON'T try again is a totally "a la carte" registration package. Been there, done that, and it was a logistical nightmare!
Raul and I gave Fontana some very specific feedback on the food that we hope they will take to heart.

I really thought we had something, both our names being Mike and all. I see how it is
. No more ketchup chips for anyone!
I have been coming since 2007 aand some things such as the property have improved but the customer service has always sucked and so has mist of the food. In the end I really don't care and pretty much have accepted it. The location is great. I come up there to enjoy everyone's company and drive the beautiful mountain roads. This event has always been organized very well and I always return to FL with a huge smile on my face. I really hope Dbr comes back. I attended my first one this past year and realized I need to make this trip twice a year. I love my S2000 and the whole community. I turned 144k in my 04 on the trip home
I have stayed in the same romm for the last 6 trips to the Dragon. There are some things wrong with the room but I have almost gotten use to them. I don't eat at the Lodge as I don't like to have a heavy meal before driving the twisties.
I would like to see something other than the Saturday lunch as it cuts into some longer drives we could go on BUT I am good with whatever is planned. I appreciate all of the hard work that goes into a meet such as this and pleasing everyone is just not possible.
