Those triangles do provide a good visual reference point to see how far you are rolling over onto your sidewalls, but that is not their real purpose. They are actually there to show you where the TWI (tread wear indicator) wear bars are located in the grooves of your tread pattern to help you find them. The triangles are located opposite the wear bars.

More good info, thanks Curt. I guess we can use them as dual purpose indicators seeing as they are in a good location on the tires.

Interesting, I was always told it was dual purpose, also for what I explained above

Set to 32 cold and forget it, then!

I may use 32 cold this year, seems to be the popular thing. I went with like 28 or so last time because my tires were like 40 psi hot coming off the dragon
