I believe at one time they had a problem with nocturnal pygmy bears, but I think Raul can comment on that.

I'd also like to see a group photo of the cars. In the resturant was a really good photo of another car group. I think they had about 250 cars (mini coopers) in the photo it was really nice. I would have like to had the chance to purchase a photo like this if it was us.
We wore the atm out too. Had to get cash at the front desk. Vendors might want to make sure the ATM stays full hehe.

I loved it. I don't mind roughing it a bit, and when you are out there in the middle of the woods you expect some bugs and "issues." Five star? Far from it. Acceptable? yes. Part of an adventure experience? Absolutely.

i was bummed that they were out of a number of items at the Bistro (especially since last year, that was a problem as well).
otherwise -- i loved it. could things have been better? 5 star stuffs? sure, but then, it wouldn't be a cabin in the mountains.

all in all, i was quite happy, even if my bunk bed matress was a bit uncomfortable.
I think you guys need to lower your standards a bit. You are miles away from civilization, you are in the mountains, and keep in mind that Fontana was a New Deal project (think about that).

I realized this year that the Dragon is a supplemental part of it - what I enjoy most is not having a cell phone, and having to put some effort into finding an Internet connection if I have to connect. It is a rare thing to find in the United States these days.
I know there are some people who come just for the Dragon, or just to socialize, and expect the same things civilization would provide back home. All I've got to say is, set your standards according to the location and you'll enjoy your time a bit more.

Having camped in a tent where the diner is now at Deal's Gap store, anything's an improvement over those days. I can't comment on the food at the Village - Sweetwater BBQ FTW!
OT - Why are you selling the Cayman? What's next?
