Just to correct some of the info here, there are multiple types of and differently rated TR6060 variants.

The T56 Magnum is the strongest of the OEM TR6060 designs. It is an aftermarket version of the TR6060, end of story. All you need is an oil cooler for extended high speed use (e.g. flying mile etc). It has all the oiling stuff sorted unlike the base T56s.

The Tr6060 used in a camaro SS won't be the same as the unit used in a ZL1 or LSA HSV GTS down here in Auz/NZ land.
Some are 400ftlbs rated, some are more. Many different gear ratios depending on where you get it from, e.g. CTS etc. The LSA based cars will have the higher rated transmission, similar to the 'Viper' spec T56.

There are also bolt pattern discrepancies between LSA engines and LSx engines, e.g. LS1 won't bolt up to the MG9 in the LSA HSV as the crank bolt patterns are different.

From Tremecs' own catalogue "Known in its OE form as the TR-6060, the Magnum is an aftermarket version of the same transmissions found in many of today’s most revered factory supercars; meaning refinement where you want it and strength where it counts"

P.s. T56 Magnum and Magnum XL (extended tailshaft) are 700ft/lbs rated and have been known to work with high rpm rotary applications - should be fine for a heavily boosted F20C build also.

Has anyone that's done this swap used a C5 oil pan (the "batwing")? I know the F-body pan will fit, but the C5 saves half an inch of ground clearance.

You don't need additional clearance at all, but I'm not unsure it wouldn't work. The fbody pan is spot on perfect, but if a batwing pan fits that's cool too since those are far cheaper on the used market.

I wonder if the batwing pan would allow you to retain the lower subframe brace bar. I've considered modifying/gabbing a new one just to have something back down there.

The Cusco u brace works with the fbody pan if you want to make up for some of the subframe bar

Also the whiteline X brace would work if you remove the tiny bar which seems too thin to make a big difference and could be easily restored with some gussets to the thicker bar. Over the winter I'll fab up a few and throw them out there for free to those of you who are doing the swap.

Awesome! That Cusco bar looks like a potential. My exhaust is all up in that area too though...

The power must be amazing.

Since the gusset in the engine bay was cut out, how does it affect the rigidity of the car as the gusset was part of the X bracing to the center tunnel ?

Doesnt seem to. my gussets are replaced with 1/4 plate so I added a little weight and gained some of the strength back. If you do motor plates that will more than make up for it as the motor becomes part of the frame. I also have chromoly tubing across the front of my car.

I am running motor mounts and we are pushing about 6 times the stock crank torque to the wheels without twisting the car. So I feel good about it.
