Default Radar Detector

I'm using V1 and was wondering if you guys use radar detectors in Europe? I may have to do an update on mine, but wanted to hear if it's usable there.

Thanks for the input!

Radar detectors are illegal in pretty much the whole of Europe and there seem to be a lot of non-radar type speed cameras here. Not sure about the frequencies either, but maybe somebody more technical can help with that

Take care,

^^^ Thank you for your input. I'd definitely look into Beltronics Sti-R. While it seems like a good investment, I'm guessing it's not common to see owners equip their cars with radar detector in Europe? and how serious are the fines if caught using them?

In most countries the confiscate detector and a big fine . I think the fines start at 150euro's . But it's all depending on country .

I would not say that it's uncommon.. it's more common that it would appear..

But yeah, it's illegal in most of Europe (not all).. so people will not speak about having them installed in their cars..... I know *MANY* people that have them installed over here (all ages, both genders, all kind of cars..).. so I would say it's relatively common (but that's all relative to the particular circle of friends you might have)

The important is that you are aware of its potential illegality and of the consequences..

If you are ok with the potential illegality and consequences.. then, as i said before:

- Stealth installation (you should not be able to reach or see the antenna until you at least remove the bumper)

- Invisible to Spectre IV (not many countries use detectors of detectors, but some do, and if they do is because their fines are even bigger than normal)

- Personally I think that laser Jammers are not worth it (fines are exponentially higher)

- Be cool with the police if they find it out
