I want to auto X a couple of time here soon but my car breaks free way easy. I have not really found the limits of the car yet to be comfortable in the cones LOL

Maybe once I get some wheels and lower profile tires??
It's all about having fun and learning how to control your car better. It really doesn't matter what type of tires you are running. I run with my daily tires (so3) with factory 16" rims and have tons of fun each time I go. I really think you should come check it out at least. If you thought about autoxing.
Scott was right, you won't be able to find the limit of your car unless you take it to some places like this and do it safely.

I wanted to go to this but read somewhere that it was members only. Seeing as I don't have a Miata I didn't think much more about it.
Yup, for this particular event was members only but everybody can join the membership not just for Miata.
I have been to the brooksville event only once. It is an old airport. You will have fun there. I wish I could make it there but two weeks in the roll is kinda too much for a "just graduated without a job young man" LOL
Hope to see you next time.

If you want to have a show car you shouldn't do autocross. If you want to have fun and learn to drive your car, you should.

I did scca road racing in my 93 RX-7.

Soon my car will be off the show car circuit and I will try again.

It is a lot of fun.

Yeah my compounds might be wrong and the size of these tires (sidewalls) are still thick. Even with my Drop ... I am still super squirrley. Todd and I zip around some back roads ...and I bust loose all the time. I might be attacking the corners too strong too.

Can 18's and SO3's help?? I am very low and the suspension is good IMHO
If you're serious enough about autocrossing, or if you break loose during 'spirited' driving on the back roads, you may want to think seriously about getting a front sway bar. Some provide enough adjustment to compensate for race rubber and street tires. I think it is a necessity on any 00-03 S2000, just for safety reasons. The newer ones seem to have beefed up the front AND rear sway bars, and they are a little less squirrely during autocross events.
The sway bar will settle the rear end in transitions, and make the car much more fun during spirited driving sessions and autocrosses.

The squirrely nature is built into the 00-03 S2000's and is very difficult to deal with, especially on an autocross course. Also, autocrossing with street tires is squirrely in it's own right. Unfortunately you really have to underdrive the course when racing with street tires (compared to racing with R compounds). There again, if you're serious enough about autocrossing, you may want to look into R compounds. Of course with the extra tires, you'll need wheels, and unless you have some way to transport them, you may be looking at getting a small utility trailer, and hitch for the S. Like I said, if you're serious about it. if you have a chance to drive an S2000 with race rubber, it is one hell of an experience.

Question

Hmmmmm! I may have to rethink the idea or drive a buddy's car LOL

I kinda jumped right into show and shine with my recent mod fest.

Perhaps some quality time in the derby lane parking lot will do me some good.

I will still come oout and see what is up.
