Calling on Florida COs

I won't rehash all the prior planning that was shot down previously however if the planning is at a stage above 2 (on a scale of 1 to 10) then the location (city, not venue) and date should be announced. (Like a "Save the Date" announcement)
This will speak volumes to the community that the event is on and the planning is underway. I understand wanting to make a more complete announcement however given the histroy a "Save the Date" announcement would go a long way to energize the community.
Just my 2 cents.

Sure, we can narrow down certain months as that is naturally attritious process but picking a 'hard date' is much difficult than picking locations or venues. If we decide on a date first then we are only left with what is available as far as locations and venues. I was hoping we could assemble a list of locations and venues and then post the available dates they can be secured. I think this only because the financial requirements tend to be more important and impactful than the calendar ones for many of our members.
Again, we are working on this as best we can. But, we are a bit limited in CO support right now for a list of legitimate reasons. I don't want the planners to be rushed into making decisions for their communities with their plates already filled with other projects.
Indyana ... are you a CO now?

Well ... we are discussing some details of a meet in the Community Organizer forum.
And, there was no way we'd have anything ready to go within less than 2 months. Especially with SPGP and the Dragon coming up. That's taking up a good bit of time and energy from both CO's and members.
I would say that Orlando is an area that tends to offer the most in both centralized location and opportunities for entertainment and venues. I'm trying to get together some ideas and pricing from a few places now. Once I have something more concrete I'll be happy to share and will need feedback from everyone.
I also know Leo Getz is also working on this as much as he can as well. He's a pro at this kind of thing.
However, if the 'mood' on this subject doesn't stay positive then it will never be successful. We have a lot of members, guests, and enthusiasts who 'lurk' on these forums. I've already chatted with one and they were already turned off by even the simplest suggestion of 'drama'. So, please, let's keep this upbeat.

whatever....and I meant that in the most positive way possible.

Nice to know there is always someone who wants to be the reason for why things like this don't happen. Your mission is complete.

Everybody's temps are in the red....I suggest everyone take a step or two back....couple of deep breaths and let this thing do what it is going to do.
I will be back in the supermeet swing after the SPGP. i will be looking for something to help with so hopefully the planning will progress in whatever way it can in the interim.
If it does not, i am sure someone will offer to do something.

In the midst of the St Pete Grand Prix right now, this is race weekend so most of the core tampa group will be trackside all weekend
